PC gaming is superior to console gaming.

When you are deciding to invest in gaming you are left with a few options. You can choose to buy/build a gaming PC or you can keep it simple with a console. Each has their own pro's and con's and at the end of the day, it's all preference. Sure, gaming consoles are great for casual gaming and relaxing on the couch but here are some reasons PC gaming is superior.

1. You can play games with better graphics than consoles (if your PC can handle)

This is one of the main arguments in favor of PC gaming, as the hardware inside a gaming PC can far outperform the parts in a console like the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. As a result, games on PC can play with graphics settings set to higher levels, as well as play at higher, smoother frame rates, than that on a console.

2. The Steam platform

Steam is a platform where, among other things, you can browse, buy, and launch your games, and it's better than the stores on Xbox One and PlayStation. A lot of the times I hear about people complaining about game prices on console, but on Steam, there are always deals and sales going on for all games.

3. You don't have to pay to play multiplayer games on PC, and you save money in the long run.

Can you imagine having to pay for an internet bill, and then to use your internet on your console you have to pay for an online service that allows you to play games online. For a year of service, an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership costs $60. That may seem like a trivial annual expense, but it builds up over the years. After paying $60 for five years or membership to either service, you would have paid $300. That's money you could spend on a PC graphics card upgrade.

4. There are more games on PC than console

There are console specific games that will never make their way to the PC gaming world but when it comes to who has more games, PC wins by a landslide. You will also find a lot more games come out on PC before they come out on console, so PC players will have a few weeks to months of playing time before it even comes out on console.

5. There's always room for an upgrade

As time goes on parts in your PC will eventually wear out or certain games require newer components, and you can easily just swap out the old one with a new one. Every single part of the PC can be upgraded easily, similarly to legos. A console, however, cannot be upgraded with a few exceptions for the PS4 Pro and the 4-K X-box one. Once your console begins to show it's age there's not much you can do about it besides buy a new one or buy the latest gaming console there is.

The PC versus console debate will likely drag on forever, but neither are going anywhere any time soon. You'll always have the option to go with whatever works for you.
